Thank you very much for purchasing Magnium ! In this document you will find all the information about how to setup and configure this theme in your Magento Installation.

 

There are 4 steps to follow while installing your theme:

System Requirements

Magnium only supports Magento Community Edition 1.7.x.x , 1.8.x.x and 1.9.x.x which can be downloaded from http://www.magentocommerce.com/download.

It does not support Magento Enterprise Edition and Magento GO. Before downloading Magento, make sure you meet the system requirements and test the compatibility of your server.

Uploading Magnium

Before you begin the installation process, we recommend to take backup of your Magento installation and database.

  • Unzip downloaded folder “Magnium ”.

  • Upload / Copy all files / folders from the folder “Magento Files > Theme Files >” to your Magento root directory, if you are using Mac, please make sure you are merging and not replacing Magento directory.

  • Note: After upload all the files and folders please don't forgot to remove all cache and session file from ' var > cache > ' and ' var > session > ' folder and re-login to the admin after logout.

 

Make “Magnium”your theme

  • Login to the Magento Admin Panel.

  • Go To: 'System > Configuration' Click on Design on the left menu

    • Under Package Tab, put “magnium” into current package name

    • Under Header tab, put “images/logo.png” into 'Logo image Src' Field.

      After setting name you can upload your logo to below path with the same name and same image extension.

      Skin > frontend > magnium > default > images >

    • You can also enter the Image alter text and Default Welcome Text

  • Scroll back to the top of the page and click the Save Config button

  • Next, go to 'System > Cache Management' from the top navigation menu. You need to clear the store cache and all cookies.

  • Click the following buttons (in orange): Flush Magento Cache, Flush Cache Storage, Flush JavaScript/CSS Cache, and Flush Catalog Images Cache (optional). Now you are ready to add content to your website.

  • Import Theme Default Banner, CMS Blocks, CMS Page and Demo

    • Navigate to: ‘System > Configuration’ click on “Import Default Theme's Settings” from Left Menu

    • Set Below options

      • Overwrite Static CMS Blocks > set yes if you want overwrite already inserted theme's default block.

      • Static CMS Blocks > Press 'Import Static CMS Blocks' to import all theme's default blocks.

      • Overwrite CMS Pages > set yes if you want overwrite already inserted theme's default page.

      • CMS Pages > Press 'Import CMS Pages' to import all theme default pages of theme.

      • Default Banner > Press 'Import Default Banner' to import default Banner.

      • Select Your Demo > You can select our demo from here to import all theme settings and design related changes which we made from admin.

      • Demo Settings > Press 'Import Demo' to import all default settings of theme.

You can edit default imported pages from: 'CMS > Pages’

  • After import the CMS Pages you can see them on CMS > Pages one page with the name 'Magnium Fluid Responsive Magento Theme'.This is an our demo home page.

    1: You can make it your home page by following below steps.

    • Go TO: System > Configuration > Web(from left sidebar under the 'general' tab)

    • Open 'Default Pages' tab and set below options

      • CMS Home Page > Magnium Premium Responsive Magento Theme

    2: OR by following below steps.

    • GO TO: CMS > Pages

    • Open 'Magnium Premium Responsive Magento Theme' (Whatever demo you like from given homepages)

    • Now Click on 'Content' tab from left sidebar

    • Click on 'Show / Hide Editor' and copy content code.

    • Now open your default 'Home page' and Paste the content

    • Click on 'Save Page'

Note: for multi product, first of all you need to create an attribute. Before moving ahead you need to create custom_product attribute. Otherwise it will gives an error.

  • Steps for creating attribute

    • Navigate to: 'Catalog > Attributes > Manage Attributes’ Click on “Add New Attribute” button at top-right side.

    • Set the following options under 'Attribute Properties' Tab for the Multi Product Attribute.

      • Attribute code > custom_product

      • Scope > Store View

      • Catalog input type for store owner > Multiple Select

      • Apply To > All product types

      • Used in Product Listing > select "yes"

    • After that click on “Manage Label/Options” from left side

    • Set following options under 'Manage Titles' tab

      • Admin > Multi Product (you can set anything whatever you want to display)

    • After that click on “Save Attribute” from the top of the page

  • Step for applying attribute to attribute set

    • Navigate to: 'Catalog > Attributes > Manage Attributes Sets’ Click on “Default ” Attribute set at the Display list

    • After that drag the 'custom_product' attribute from 'Unassigned Attribute' list to under the 'General' tab

    • Then click on “Save Attribute Set” from top-right corner.

Note: if you want to display 'Multi Attribute' option to any other Attribute set then assign custom_product attribute to other attribute set.

 

  • Product Block (Multi-Product) Settings

    • Navigate to: ‘System > Configuration’ Click on “Multi Product” from Left Menu

    • Set Below options

      • Enable Multi-Product Block > Select "yes / no".

      • Product Options > Select product to display on home page.

      • Display Order > Add display order with comma (,) seperated.i.e for 3: Rated, 1: New write - 3,1

      • Max Product Limit > Insert Product Limit in integer.

  • Product Block (Product Slider) Settings

    • Navigate to: ‘System > Configuration’ click on “Multi Product” from Left Menu

    • Set Below options

      • Enable Product Block > Select "yes / no".

      • Product Option > select product block to display.

      • Max Product Limit > Insert Product Limit in integer.

  • See the slider example.

 

  • Product Block (Product without slider on home page) Settings

    • Navigate to: ‘System > Configuration’ click on “Multi Product” from Left Menu

    • Set Below options

      • Enable Product Block > Select "yes / no".

      • Product Option > select product block to display.

      • Max Product Limit > Insert Product Limit in integer.

      • Product Pre Row > Select number of product count value for one row.

  • In this silde we have implement load more product functionality.

 

  • Shop By Category Settings

    • Navigate to: ‘System > Configuration’ click on “Multi Product” from Left Menu

    • Set Below options

      • Enable Product Block > Select "yes / no".

      • Title of the block > Set title for this block.

      • Category ID > Set Category ID with comma (,) seperated. Exa 3,1.

  • Shop By Product Settings

    • Navigate to: ‘System > Configuration’ click on “Multi Product” from Left Menu

    • Set Below options

      • Enable Product Block > Select "yes / no".

      • Product ID > Set Product ID with comma (,) seperated. Exa 3,1

  • Product Block (Mini Footer) Settings

    • Go to: ‘System > Configuration’ click on “Multi Product” from Left Menu

    • Set Below options

      • Enable Product Block > Select "yes / no".

      • Product Option > Select product to display.

      • Product Option > Select product to display.

      • Product Option > Select product to display.

      • Product Option > Select product to display.

      • Max Product Limit > Insert Product Limit in integer.

Now you can set product configuration for Multi Product.

You need to select 'attributes' which are displaying in “Multi Product” field for the products you want to display on home page under the product attributes title. i.e Featured, Sale etc...

You can set custom description in fields “Custom Text” to display custom description for each product to detail page.

Note: for Custom Description first off all you need to create an attribute.

  • Step for creating attribute

    • Navigate to: 'Catalog > Attributes > Manage Attributes’ click on “Add New Attribute” from Right Corner

    • Set the following option under 'Attribute Properties' Tab

      • Attribute code > customtext

      • Scope > Store View

      • Catalog input type for store owner > Text Area

      • Apply To > All product types

    • After that click on “Manage Label/Options” from left corner

    • Set following option under 'Manage Titles' tab

      • Admin > Custom Text(you can set anything as you want to display)

    • After that click on “Save Attribute” from the top of the page

  • Step for apply attribute to attribute set

    • Navigate to: 'Catalog > Attributes > manage Attributes Sets’ click on “Default ” Attribute set from the Display list

    • After that drag the 'customtext' attribute from the right 'Unassigned Attribute' list to under the 'General' tab

    • Then click on “Save Attribute Set” from top-right corner.

  • Step for set custom text in tab

    • Navigate to: 'Catalog > Manage Product click on “Any Product from the Display list

    • After that Write in 'Custom Text' tab

    • Then click on “Save” from top-right corner.

Note: if you want to display 'Custom Text' option to any other Attribute set then assigns custom_product attribute to other attribute set.

You can set video identifier in fields “Product Video” to display product video for each product to custom tab on product detail page.

Exa:  if your video link is  "http://www.youtube.com/embed/gaw2UMYAa70"  Then your identifier is

    • After that click on “Save Attribute” from the top of the page

  • Step for apply attribute to attribute set

    • Navigate to: 'Catalog > Attributes > Manage Attributes Sets’ click on “Default ” Attribute set from the Display list

    • After that drag the 'video' attribute from the right 'Unassigned Attribute' list to under the 'General' tab

    • Then click on “Save Attribute Set” from top-right corner.

  • Step for set video in tab

    • Navigate to: 'Catalog > Manage Product click on “Any Product from the Display list

    • After that Write in 'Video' tab

    • Then click on “Save” from top-right corner.

Note: if you want to display 'Product Video' option to any other Attribute set then assigns promotion attribute to other attribute set.

Here are following steps with which we are able to create Group deal for particular product.

Notefor Product Group Deal first off all you need to create an attribute.

  • Step for creating attribute

    • Navigate to: 'Catalog > Attributes > Manage Attributes’ click on “Add New Attribute” from Right Corner

    • Set the following option under 'Attribute Properties' Tab

      • Attribute code > group_deal

      • Scope > Store View

      • Catalog input type for store owner > Yes/No

      • Apply To > all product types

      • Used in Product Listing > select "yes"

    • After that click on “Manage Label/Options” from left corner

    • Set following option under 'Manage Titles' tab

    • After that click on “Save Attribute” from the top of the page

  • Step for applying attribute to attribute set

    • Navigate to: 'Catalog > Attributes > Manage Attributes Sets’ click on “Default ” Attribute set from the Display list

    • After that drag the 'group_deal' attribute from the right 'Unassigned Attribute' list to under the 'Price' tab to make things easy.

    • Then click on “Save Attribute Set” from top-right corner.

  • Applying attribute to Deal Product.

      Apply “Special Price” to whatever you’re going to offer the deal at.
    • Navigate to:Catalog > Manage Product click on Any Product from the Display list

    • After that Apply “Special Price” to whatever you’re going to offer the deal at.You are then going to set the length of the Group Buy deal using the “Special Price From Date” and “Special Price To Date” fields. Set the “Group Deal” to “Yes” price tab.

    • Then click on “Save” from top-right corner.

Change Image On Product Hover

You can change product image on hover by Sort Order or Image Label at the time of inserting product with images.

Important:Sort order or Image Label value must be match with which you have entered in "theme settings".

      • Set Display Mode > Static Block And Products

      • CMS Block > Categoryname-block

If you want to add your own block than you can do it by following below step and apply it by following above step.

  • Navigate to: 'CMS > Static Blocks’ click on “Add New Block” from Right Corner

    • Set “categoryname-block”* into 'Identifier' & 'Block Title' Field

    • Set Store View > All Store View

    • Status > Enabled

    • Put the own code in to Content area

You can see demo block by going to 'CMS > Static Blocks’.

Note: “category name” is a name of category. You need to replace it with actual category name but it's not important to set name same as category name.It's only for to remember you to which block you have created for category.

E.g. Add block with identifier as “Clothes-block” and set it as CMS Block for category ‘Clothes’

We have also managed sub category listing on category page.

  • That is manage it from file.

    Navigate to: app > design > frontend > magnium > default > template > catalog > category > view.phtml

 

Please checked below step to set Mega Menu

  • Navigate to: 'Catalog > Manage Categories’ and click on your categories

  • Now you can see there tab with the name "Mega Menu" , Click on that tab to see options.

  • Set the following option under 'Mega Menu' Tab

    • Menu Type > Here you can set menu style like 'Mega Menu' and 'Vertical' for each category as we have set it in our demo

    • Top Block > You can select here your CMS Block which you have created by going to CMS > Static Blocks to display on top of menu popup.

    • Left Block > You can select here your CMS Block which you have created by going to CMS > Static Blocks to display on left side of menu popup.

    • Right Block > You can select here your CMS Block which you have created by going to CMS > Static Blocks to display on right side of menu popup.

    • Bottom Block > You can select here your CMS Block which you have created by going to CMS > Static Blocks to display on left side of menu popup.

    • Left Block Width > Here you can set width of left block in based on fluid width like 1 to 8.
      Make sure the sum of 'Left Block Width' , 'Right Block Width' and 'Category Block Width' is '12'.
      Exa: In our '' category we set Left-Block-Width is '4' and Category Block Width is '8'.

    • Right Block Width > Here you can set width of right block in based on fluid width like 1 to 8.
      Make sure the sum of 'Left Block Width' , 'Right Block Width' and 'Category Block Width' is '12'.
      Exa: In our 'Electronics' category we set Right-Block-Width is '4' and Category Block Width is '8'.

    • Category Block Width > Here you can set width of your category block in based on fluid width like 1 to 12.
      Make sure the sum of 'Left Block Width' , 'Right Block Width' and 'Category Block Width' is '12'.

    • Total Column For Sub Category > Here you can set column number which u want to display on menu popup.
      Exa: In our 'Women's' category we set '4'.
      Exa: In our Electronics category we set '2'.

    • Category Label > Here you can set label of category which display on frontend menu.

    • Custom Block Position: > Here you can select position of custom block on category landing page.

    • Sidebar VeticalMenu Popup Width: > Here you can set width of subcategory popup .

    To add google map on your contactus page please follow below step

  • Navigate to: http://maps.google.com/

    • Type your location address into the Search field and press Enter.

    • Click on 'Settings' icon from bottom-right corner and select Share and embed map.

    • Now Click on Embed map tab and copy whole 'iframe' code.

    • Replace the original code you have in the form.phtml at the bottom of the file
      (app > design > frontend > magnium > default > template > contacts > form.phtml)

    • Also make the width and height same as our previous code.

    • Now save the file and refresh your page.

    • We have add different static block in the form.phtml file.
      (app > design > frontend > magnium > default > template > contacts > form.phtml)

  • Header

    • Navigate to: ‘System > Configuration’ click on “Theme Settings” from Left Menu

    • Set Below options under Header tab

      • Header Type > Select different header style in droup down menu.

      • Display Sticky Header > Select "yes" for Sticky Header

      • Enable Wishlist Block > Select "yes" to show wishlist block

      • Padding Top > Here you can set top padding for primary block of header

      • Padding Bottom > Here you can set bottom padding for primary block of header

 

  • Menu Options

    • Navigate to: ‘System > Configuration’ click on “Theme Settings” from Left Menu

    • Set Below options under Menu Options tab

      • Display Menu in Template Width > Select "yes / no" to display menu in template width.

      • Display Vertical Menu on Sidebar > Select "yes / no" to display vertical menu on sidebar.

      • Display Accordion Menu on Sidebar > Select "yes / no" to display accordian menu on sidebar.

      • Enable home link > Select "yes / no" to display home link on default menu.

 

  • Brand Logo

    • Navigate to: ‘System > Configuration’ click on “Theme Settings” from Left Menu

    • Set Below options under Brand Logo tab

      • Brand Logo Slider Enable > Select "yes / no" to display brand slider on home page.

      • Manufaturer Brand Logo Limit > Select brand logo limit to display on homepage.

 

  • Banner

    • Navigate to: ‘System > Configuration’ click on “Theme Settings” from Left Menu

    • Set Below options under Banner tab

      • Enable Banner > Select "yes / no" to display banner.

      • Banner Position > Select banner position to display.

      • Display Breakpoint Before Banner > Set "yes" to set breakpoint before banner.

      • Set Value of Breakpoint which take before banner > Set value in integer which take top margin from menu.

      • Display Banner with > You can set here banner with block or not.

      • Banner Left Block > Select cms block which you want to use.

      • Banner Right Block > Select cms block which you want to use.

      • Display Banner in Template Width > Set "yes" to display banner in template width.

 

  • Product Slider

    • Navigate to: ‘System > Configuration’ click on “Theme Settings” from Left Menu

    • Set Below options under Product Slider tab

      • Slide Speed > Add integrer in milliseconds, for example 5000 for 5 seconds.

      • Auto Play > Add integrer in milliseconds, for example 5000 to play every 5 seconds. Blank will make it false.

      • Stop On Hover > Select "yes / no" to stop auto play on mouse hover.

      • Rewind Nav > Select "yes / no" to set rewind nevigation on banner.

      • Rewind Speed > set integrer value in milliseconds, for example 5000 for 5 seconds.

      • LazyLoad > Set 'Yes/No' to activate lazyload for images.

      • Scroll Per Page > Select "yes / no" to set scrolling per page.

      • Display Navigation Arrow > Select "yes / no" to set Navigation arrow on slider.

      • Display Pagination > Select "yes / no" to set pagination on slider.

 

  • Product

    • Navigate to: ‘System > Configuration’ click on “Theme Settings” from Left Menu

    • Set Below options under Product tab

      • Ajax Cart > Select "Enable / Disable" for enable with Quickview.

    Log out from Magento admin panel, clear the store cache under var/cache, and login again.

     

    2. After the extension installation the store gives an error, or blank page. Log out from Magento admin panel. Change the owner of the extracted extension files to the web server user and set 775 permissions on them. Clear the store cache and try again.

     

    3. My configuration changes do not appear on the frontend.

    Clear the store cache under var/cache, clear all browser cookies for your store domain and refresh the page in your browser.
